Piano Tuning HanoverCentral Virginia Piano Tuner Blanton Bendall of Southern Piano Service always had a soft spot for his Hanover county clients. After all, that’s where he grew up – in Montpelier, to be precise. And so he has decided to expand his services from mostly Western Hanover to offer his full range of Piano services to ALL of Hanover county, starting with Piano tuning in Hanover County.

So what does “full range” of piano services mean?  It includes just about anything piano-related you could possibly need, including piano cleaning, repair, and even piano restringing services. Blanton is happy to provide whatever piano services his Hanover County (and other) customers may need.

Piano Repair Services – And Piano Art

piano repair servicesYes, I provide piano repair services – but not usually piano art. I just found these cool piano images and wanted to share them with you.

Pianos sometimes really do refinishing, and the artists who have worked on the pianos you see on this page have taken their projects far beyond the usual level. These images come from a site called Morguefile and depict a series of pianos that have been artistically enhanced.

Imagine having a piano that’s badly in need of refinishing. You may or may not choose to actually have it artistically enhanced like the owners of the pianos on this page. Unfortunately, I’m no longer able to offer that service, at least for now.

A photographer who goes by the moniker earl53 uploaded them, and he must have been having a blast taking photographs of all those cool pianos.

And yes, of course people also played them, as you can see on the image below.

Piano Tuning

Is your piano out of tune? You may wonder what to expect when you have a piano tuner come over in order to tune your piano.

What I do during a Piano Tuning call

Here’s what I do on a standard piano tuning call:

Before I start the tuning itself, I check all the keys repeatedly to make sure they are playing to the customer’s satisfaction. Many times a customer will inform me over the phone that there are sticking keys or strange buzzing noises coming from the piano. One of the most challenging and satisfying parts of being a piano tuner is the mystery of diagnosing and then correcting these issues.

Once the problems facing the piano have been addressed, I can then begin the actual piano tuning itself. Quite often the piano hasn’t been tuned in several years and is in need of pitch raising, (think tuning twice in one visit). Whatever the situation with the piano may be, I will always work with the customer to find the most appropriate and economical course of action to bring the instrument to its best potential.

And of course, all this means that I’ll be doing this work wherever you keep your piano, usually at your home. Which areas do I cover? I tune pianos in all of the following Central Virginia areas (in no particular order): Ashland, Mechanicsville, Sandston, Montpelier, Goochland, Hanover, Beaverdam, Doswell, Manakin-Sabot, Oilville, and more. Of course I also move pianos and restore them, and for those types of assignments, I often go well beyond my normal area.
