Piano Tuning Richmond VA in Fall

piano tuning richmond va in fallHave you noticed the weather lately? It’s the perfect time for piano tuning Richmond VA. I’m sure you’ve noticed that it’s time to bring out the jackets and the sweaters, even though it’s not really COLD yet.

This means that in fall (or autumn, if you prefer), the weather is perfect to get the best results from your having your piano tuned.

Why the best results? Because the weather, along with the temperature and the humidity is comparatively stable, which means that your piano will stay tuned for quite a while.

The perfect time for Piano Tuning Richmond VA

Richmond has seasons, and so it can get quite cold during the winter. And when the heating system comes on, the air indoors can become quite dry, unless you’re putting some effort into setting up humidifiers.

And of course we all remember what the summer was like. Hot and humid. And humidity can expand the wooden parts in your piano and make the piano go out of tune.

But when the piano has some time to hold its tune, it will stay well-tuned for a little longer, so the best time to have it tuned is in fall — and in spring! But now it’s fall…

Perfect pitch for the holiday season

And there’s another reason to make sure your piano has perfect pitch: the upcoming holiday season! Don’t you want your piano to be in good shape for social events at your home? Someone might want to sit down and show off his or her skills. Maybe even a member of your family!

Whether you’re in the mood for some spooky tunes for Halloween, or something festive for Thanksgiving and the entire Christmas season, a well-tuned piano will increase your enjoyment greatly.

Piano Tuning, Richmond, VA, prepares your piano for holiday fun

So consider Piano Tuning. Richmond, VA, offers the perfect weather to help you get the most of your investment. Of course you’re not the only one who knows that! Others are making their appointments too, and I’ve been pretty busy as it is.

Why don’t you send me a text at 804-677-2416 to schedule a good time to have your piano tuned. Of course you can also call me if you prefer. It’s just that it’s often easier and faster for me to get back with you quickly if you send a text message. It’s just the nature of my profession…

And as you know, I don’t only tune them in Richmond, including in the Fan, the West End, Bon Air, and many other places, but also in surrounding areas. In fact, just about anywhere in Central Virginia. Whether it’s in Hanover or Henrico County, Ashland, or any of the surrounding towns and communities, I’ll be happy to tune your piano.

Just text or call me at 804-677-2416, and I’ll take care of your piano!

P.S.: Please visit (and like) my Facebook page too.

Best Time To Tune A Piano

best time to tune a pianoAre you wondering when would be the best time to tune a piano? Actually, there are TWO ideal times to tune a piano! The first one in the year is in spring, and yes, this means that the best time to tune a piano is in April and May!

However, there’s another best time to tune a piano – and that’s fall, which means, just about right now, in October. In this article, I’ll tell you all about the reasons why you should try to have your piano tuned in spring and/or fall, depending on whether you want to have it tuned once or twice a year.

You can reach me, Blanton Bendall, at 804-677-2416, any weekday (M-F) between 9 AM and 6 PM, preferably by text message, but phone calls work too. I look forward to talking with you!

Why the best time to tune a piano is either spring or fall

As you know, pianos are very sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity, and the biggest changes happen as you change over from winter to spring, and then again from summer to fall.

Easter Piano Music And The Perfect Time for Tunings

easter piano musicDid you notice? Spring is in the air! It looks like we’ve made it through most of the cold weather, and the temperatures are more normal again. Your piano will certainly appreciate that. And Easter piano music may be part of your spring enjoyment, which also makes March the perfect time for tunings.

And while it’s a bit early to actually tune it right this minute, it’s time to get on the schedule of your favorite Richmond piano tuner so I can get to it at the perfect time, right after the last cold spell and when the temperature has been normal for a little while so the piano had a chance to adjust. Let’s say in March!

Remember, the two biggest enemies of your piano’s perfect sound are temperature fluctuations and changes in humidity. And both are drastically different when the seasons change from winter to spring to summer.

Richmond Piano Tuning For Christmas & Holiday Season

richmond piano tuning christmasThe holidays are getting closer, and it’s time for Richmond piano tuning for Christmas & Holiday Season! It seems everyone remembers to get their piano tuned in December or even the week before Christmas. And while I hate to let anyone down, I can only tune so many pianos in a week.

So if you want your piano to sound great when you have your holiday party sing-alongs, please plan ahead just a bit, and have it tuned as soon as possible.

That way you’ll also be able to enjoy your perfectly tuned piano during the entire holiday season!

Imagine how embarrassed you (or whoever plays your piano) would be if there were sticking keys, broken strings, or other issues that result in unsavory sounds coming from your piano. And then, there’s that out-of-tune music too.

Richmond Piano Tuner: Now Tuning In More Richmond Neighborhoods

richmond piano tunerFor years, I have been tuning pianos in the Central Virginia area, but stayed mostly in the periphery of Richmond proper. This is now changing.

I’m actively expanding into a range of City of Richmond neighborhoods and look forward to providing my piano tuning and repair services to the piano owners in Richmond proper as well.

I’m particularly looking to expand in the following areas, in no particular order: Three Chopt, University of Richmond, Willow Lawn, Windsor Farms, Tuckahoe, Bon Air, Glen Allen, Woodlake, Wyndham, Stony Point, Huguenot, Grove Avenue, and all areas in between. In addition, I’ll be happy to tune and service pianos in the VCU area, as well as in the Fan, the Museum District, and Monument Avenue.

Now, that it’s hot and humid, it’s especially important to keep an eye on your piano to ensure it will continue to work properly. If you find signs that it has been affected by the heat and humidity, be sure to have it checked.

Of course, I’ll happily do a complimentary climate control check whenever I tune a piano, Continue reading

Summer Piano Care Tips

summer piano careIt’s been mighty hot for months now. With that kind of heat and humidity, your piano needs special care. So I’ve written up some summer piano care tips to help you make sure your piano will continue to sound great.

As you know, I’m an expert piano tuner, and I tune pianos all over Central Virginia and the Greater Richmond Area. If you’re not sure your climate control is adequate for your piano, or whether the A/C vents are too close, I’ll be happy to check it out while I do a tuning, and make suggestions for how to remedy the situation.

Summer Piano Care Tips

What to look out for:

1) Consistent room temperature

It’s important to keep the temperature of your home (or at least the room where you keep your piano) relatively consistent all year long. Normal “room temperature” – in the low to mid 70s – is perfect.

2) Consistent humidity

Next, you should also be sure to keep the humidity levels steady throughout the year. This means Continue reading
